Scott 114 -- 1869 3c W/Double Grill

I couldn't find any previous posts of stamps of this issue showing multiple grills so I thought I'd share a recent acquisition.

I've been trying to acquire a 114 for some time now to help me with the paper identification issues I continue to struggle with.

Last weekend I stumbled across this one on ebay with a few minutes left on the auction and only a single bid of 99 cents.

It has perf issues, it looks like a scissors cut on the bottom straight edge, and the heavy cancel obscures much of the design but I can't complain for the price I paid.

Definite double grill impression. These are very elusive and missing from most collections. Even with the heavy cancel and the perf issues it is still a very nice find. Thanks for posting.
