Scott Catalog 1994

I have a chance to purchase the 4 volume (A to Z) 1994 Scott Catalog for $44.06. My question is first is that a good price and second how off would the 1994 prices be as compared today?

If you have no sets of previous Scott Catalogs, the set would be useful for identification. Do you know the condition of the set? In any case, I wouldn't rely too heavily on values, though.

Just checked ebay listings and they are offering a 2004 (10 YEARS NEWER) set of all SIX volumes at $29.99 (bid) or $49.99 (buy it now). Don't know anything about the seller, though. Here's the listing link for comparison:

Looks even better when you consider that the seller is going to add the 2004 US Specialized!

It is good to have a set. If you have a local stamp club you could cut your shipping costs by buying local.

Came home from work today and checked the ebay sale on this set of books and guess what? all gone. Someone bought them, I waited too long to decide.

Barb: Now that you have a catalog you will be plagued with a condition known as catalog blindness. We are here for you (and vice versa we hope).

lol.. fast thinking Barb.. I have a complete set of 2009 scott catalogs. a 2011 specialized and a 2010 SG British.. I still ask questions.

Ray, When I bought my 2009 catalogs (6 volumes) last year, I found them all on Amazon at between 10.00 to 25.00 each..
So maybe 140-170 for a full set.. that is really cheap..

<edit>But I really must thank you all for saying this was a good deal. I'll let you know when it actually arrives. And I think the Specialized they threw in is duplication of what I have so can send to someone for postage costs.
