I have a couple of cigar stamps, but no book to get an id or near value. Anyone out there collect these or have reference please. Thanks as always - Jeff

I know someone here, revstampman, collects them. I would love to have some for my sporatic revenue collection. My Scott's Specialized is not at hand right now to help you out.

Cigar stamps (and I have a number of them, too) are not listed in Scott Specialized but rather in the "Springer Handbook of North American Cinderella Stamps".

This is a good revenue site with some explanation on the use and types of Cigar Stamps issued through the years:

I suppose so, but it's been around awhile. I just looked up the title on the internet and came up with a few sources. The problem is there are 10 volumes, each one about $35 - $50, a set of all 10 volumes at $400. Not exactly cheap and unless one has a significant enough collection, probably not worth it for most casual collectors.

No luck in my reference material. That Springer set is also too steep for me.

Now you know why I wanted the Springer Catalogs. I hate not knowing what catalog number describes a revenue stamp.

BTW, revstampman, I believe it was you on another thread where you indicated you have a book coming out. Can you provide a preview? I suspect there will be many buyers on this forum, myself included. If it wasn't you then I'll have to go searching for it. I thin k it was on the thread "Springer Catalogs"?

Jeff,

Withdrawing 4% per year, that stamp should provide you at least 2 cents a year until the next economic downturn -- you'd better hope Congress and the Administration don't cut your social security benefits!
