going through some stamps etc. today I came accross this envelope, no stamps on it and I have no idea if its value? anyone have any idea, first day of issue of the trans-atlantic air mail stamp envelope may 16th 1939

Yes, it was USA Scott C24, a 30-cent stamp featuring a winged globe.

Your cachet cover, although not used, is still a nice item to have. If I was to do a write-up for my own collection, I would include that cover with a small description. If anything, it is nice piece of collateral material to say the very least.

thanks for the replies, I got this stamp collection around ten years ago from a guy,there are Babe Ruth gold stamp, full sheets of all types of stamps,collection of norman rockwell envelopes 1983 -1984 cancellations.If anyone is interested i'll try to up load pictures when I can.most of the stamps are from around 1982?
