rod, that was an excellent exercise trying to match country names to map locations. I did great for many of them but really got confused with about 8 - 10 of the countries. Thanks for the mental test.

A slap on the back for your honesty! :)

Yep, I mucked up too
I had Mauretania further up the coast, (where it used to be)
I got the Levant correct and most of Arabian areas
(Thanks to my penchant for "Dunes" cinderellas)

I missed Armenia (gulp) and a few of the *...stans.

I shall do it every day till I get it right :)

I nearly missed Bahrain due to elderly vision I think.

I did good on the countries that were established before 1970 but found the newer countries more challenging. I'm not sure if that means I'm geographically impaired or just stuck in a time warp.

Challenging! I got a few "next doors", especially in the 'Stans!

The -stans were difficult, and when I just had Bahrain left it was hard finding the last white spot. But other than that I did okay, had a bit to many in the neighbour-country though...

That was fun! I did OK with North Africa and eastern Europe. The Middle East and 'Stans were a bit awry, lots of guesses, eg the assuming that the larger spaces were the better known countries (not a theory that always works!). I love maps.

I had problems with a few, but most were OK.

This is a fun way to find your way around Europe - try to land your plane in the correct city after the names are removed from the map. It gets progressively harder as the cities are removed, and finally the country outlines. When the plane takes off, click your mouse where you think the correct destination is.

I was way off.

My score? 21,783

When I clicked my ranking it defaulted
saying "undefined"
Was I that bad??

Hi Rodney,

I had a devil of a time with the quiz. I did all right with North Africa since I spent a year in Morocco (1950's 2 Morocco's, Spanish in the North and French in the South) and some countries around Israel. Forget the 'stans', did not get even one of those. I guess I need to take a geography lesson.

It would be interesting to see what people do with a map of the US and/or Canada. I have found a lot of Americans do not know where the states are and some Canadians who do not know the provinces. Also interesting would be Latin America.

Hi Jerry,
I think I could do well in S America,
but the states of the union, absolutely no way
New York and California is about it.

I jotted down my list of countries as I solved
them on the map, that was really a surprise because my first
positive ID was Egypt, and the huge area of Turkey
was far down the list.
I knew Pakistan was west of India, I knew Afghanistan was adjacent
and I worked through like that.
Libya and Tunisia was easy as they are in the news.

Armenia was my big Gaff, imagine losing Armenia :)
All's well now, (I think)
