Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome, and the stamps. I really loved the occupation flags. I have a questions for you seasoned collectors. Are the year books that the post office sells good to buy and collect, is the price worth it, and are the stamps in them loose or stuck in the book. I hope the questions aren't too dorky.

Hello Walter and welcome to the club.

The Postal books come with loose stamps and mounts. My opinion is that they are over priced.

IMHO they are overpriced, but bobggg is absolutely right. It's your collection and you can collect what you want, when you want, how you want, keep it where you want, and pay what you want.

I'm sure I overpay for German items all the time. In fact, I'm probably going to overpay for one of Modern_who's covers on ebay next week - just because I want it!

Walter,
I bought 2006, and 2007 yearbooks from post office--in the smaller post offices you have to order them. My personal opinion is that I wish I hadn't bought them. I like the thrill of the hunt with the USED stamps. Now that I have THE YEAR BOOKS, I don't know what to do with them. The postal employee told me that the books cost nearly "nothing" , that it's the stamps that are the major cost. I thought thaT SOUNDED LIKE A GREAT DEAL! But don't let it fool ya! They charge for the book too ! Yes, the stamps come loose in an envelope inside--not hinged. And if you're not happy with the book--the only time the USPS gives refunds is with a defective product. Look on ebay and see how many yearbooks folks are getting rid of. ******* THE PRECEEDING WAS JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION.
