I have these listed as 64 and 65 respectively, but they are based on color. Would someone please let me know what they think (and saying 64a is ok with me!)

That's a strange cancel shape, looks like a hanukkah.

Did you mean menorah Rod and you are right, I never noticed that. Will take further looking. Thanks Russ, now I have no Scott 64. Hope you feel better now. Ruined my night. My whole collection has gone to pot. Just gonna throw the whole thing out.
(Thank you as always. I want them right so badly, you can't imagine.)

Don't beat your head against the wall, JH. Even the so-called experts have been getting it wrong for years!

Yeah but I am like 0 for 600. Just kidding. My main goal with my US stamps is to finally get them in the right places. I have enough duplicates that I must have gotten ONE right. I will find it. Until then, I learn.

If only you could see my National Banknote collection. Unless the item was expertized, I put it in my stockbook. I have literally thousands of stamps to sort through. I figure I'll get around to it after retirement ... in 25 years or so :)

And based on the cancels on this strip, I would have to agree with Stampvirgin. The first stamp shown at the start of this thread is probably an incomplete bullseye cancel, not a menorah.
