I have been looking for a decent White Plains SS for some time and decided to actually bid on one and I got it. I'm sure I paid too much for it. Good thing my wife doesn't know how much I spend on my collection but, its a gap in my collection that has been nagging on me for years. It's another search ended. I now have my eyes set on those 3 Zepps that have been missing.

Welcome to SCF. Congratulations on acquiring the White Plains sheet. I haven't gotten that serious about my US collection just yet.

Do show us a scan of your sheet if you can.

And for the non-US family, the catalog value of a MNH White Plains souvenir sheet closely approximates its Scott catalog number -- the 2011 CV is $600 for MNH.

Congratulations artlaunier!

I've always drooled over those at the dealer tables for several years now. I also haven't taken the plunge and purchased them. One day I'll get one.....I just hope they don't increase in value too much by then. LOL! If you break it down that is only $24.00 per stamp for CV of $600.

artlaunier - that's a great sheet, almost every US collector would give one arm for one.

rod - that sheet better not be out of your collection or you may have to move. It is my understanding that it is illegal to own a white plains sheet if you don't live in the U.S. :)

Right, Jeff. They cost an arm, but not a leg.

A full sheet, never hinged can be had for around $250 - $275 on ebay. I have been watching the exact same sheet for 3 months now and the last 4 have all been in that dollar range. here is one now for $239.00
Very light hinge on selvage.

Those were my exact feelings last month when I finally got the White Plains Sheet at a local stamp show. That is a large purchase for me and although I use ebay for many items I was glad to have a dealer show me the item and explain what I was getting. He gave me a fair deal so I pulled the string. Ditto on the wife. Hate those gaps in the book. The zeps might be more than a gap - maybe a chasm!
