When purchasing the White Plains S/S, always check to make sure you have full selvage (not trimmed) and that there are no perf separations.

-- The top 2 positions will have wide ~1" selvage at the outside press sheet edges.

-- The bottom 2 positions will have ~3/4" selvage at the outside press sheet edges.

-- All the inside edges will be ~1/2" selvage.

-- Notches at the outside corner in the TL and TR pane positions are normal. They should not appear at any corner in the BL and BR pane positions.

All 3 of the S/S's shown/linked in this thread so far all appear OK. But I've seen quite a few S/S's with trimmed selvage on the market. Because of the wide selvage, it's an old trick used to remove hinge marks and edge faults. The Scott catalog gives you approximate dimensions that are also helpful.

Enjoy your new acquisition!

It came today and I'm happy to say that it is as it was described. Its a beauty. Of course, the centering could have been a little better and the sheet could have been without some wrinkles and I'm sure some purist could have found other faults. However, to me, its nearly perfect and I'm a happy camper. That big hole is now filled and I can now moan about something else. I think there is now a three-some of Zepps with a target on them...

All that matters is exactly what you said, "I'm a happy camper" that is what collecting these beauties is all about.

I lived in White Plains, NY for many years, remember seeing that sheet of stamps framed and hanging on the post office wall.
Today they would need armed guards to watch it.

ILS, I think it was artlaunier and not Smauggie that won the sheet.
Funny how you Americans call this a souvenir Sheet.

It's that terminlogy thing again across the world.

Nice thread.
