You know, you actually have a four margin copy. The top shows the bottom margin of the adjacent stamp.

stampvirgin, it was interesting to read that it took you three purchases to finally get an acceptable US #1. I thank you for warning us about Apfelbaum's business practices. It shouldn't surprise anyone when you read his complicated and lengthy conditions of sale.

mhc99, Gary Posner is GREAT to deal with, if they make a mistake they fix it fast.. and bend over backwards to do it.
Apfelbaum, especially Missy, is terrible to deal with, I am not the only one stung by them. Many others have done so as well,
I would not buy from them unless I could inspect the stamps in person. You can not trust their descriptions or pictures.

Oh, I don't think I would use the word "acceptable" all I have been looking for is a #1 that lives up to the description of the seller.
I have seen images of the front and back of this stamp and am pleased. When I get it, I will examine it closely to make sure there are no hidden defects not available in the picture.
The seller assures me that it is sound, and he has a great reputation, so I am felling happy about this purchase.

Never bought anything from Applebaum ... Gary Posner Inc has treated me very well. They will even setup payment plans for more expensive lots. He's one of the few big dealers I'll do business with.

mhc99,
Gary's stuff is not cheap, but it is good. and there are bargains to be had on his auction material.
And if you get in touch with them and ask them for a certain stamp they will find it and get back to you, and at a reasonable price.
If I hadn't won the stamp above I would have done a BIN on a #1 they have for sale..
