I am looking for a (at least half decent) #1
I have watched ebay for the past 4 months and the best price
is $195 for a copy that could barely be considered a filler!
Any help would be appreciated.

If any of you are ebay sellers, I really don't mean any disrespect.
Appologizies in advance if you are.

kingfish23, all I can say is keep looking and a nice bargain will eventually surface on ebay, bidStart, Delcampe, etc.

I just checked ebay today and saw the following #1 for less than $200:

For a little more, here is a 3 margin stamp

It may meet your standards.

Your second listing was from seller nystamps. They have the largest volume of anyone
I have ever seen! They have most everything and will let you make an offer on many items. The first listing was a much better stamp at a better price.

NY stamps (Sun philatelic) is a volume dealer. Their descriptions tend to be lacking imo. They are great for getting good deals on collections, but I avoid them when it comes to singles.

I finally got my #1 and I couldn't be happier! The one that mhc99 led be to was sold by RScholl
on bidstart.com and he delivered it registered and I had it within 3 days! My next project will be
getting a #2, but since it is so expensive I will more than likely settle for a filler.
