Dale, thanks for pointing out that JFK was born in Brookline. I notice that the postmark is May 29, 1967 and I found out that JFK was also born on May 29 in 1917 - 50 years earlier than the First Day Cover.

JFK commemorative covers were a big draw back in the 1960's as represented by this 4th Year "anniversary" Memorial Cover from 1967:



Personally, I'm not sure why such an "anniversary" cover was ever created...seems a bit inappropriate to me, but I guess one has to remember the tragedy was still fresh in people's minds back in the mid-1960's.
