We still have some detective work to do. Just tried to look up Post Offices, Discontinued Post Offices and Map locations, and a Newkirk, Alabama does not seem to exist.

I've looked in Florida and Alabama, going through city and town names and can't come up with a Newkirk.

Found it! We're in the wrong region of the country...not Florida or Alabama or even Louisiana...it's NEWKIRK, OKLAHOMA! It's been a long time since I've seen OKLA. as the abbreviation for that State.
