The 1869 pictorials are my real love and the only specialty within a specialty I collect.
Are you just giving us a glimpse into your collection or looking for authentification?
(edited for lateness) I had this topic opened for some time before responding. Didn't get a chance to see the other responses |

Checking for grills can be tricky. I've gotten excited about discovering "No-grill" issues myself. The problem is that during the manufacture of these stamps, the grills could have been pressed out (accidentally). The only way to be certain is to send it out to be expertized. But if you're as curious as I am, you could buy yourself a microscope. They can be expensive, but will help you fritter away hours and days :) |

you can buy inexpensive microscopes, like in kids discovery sets for around 30.00, I use one and it work really really well.

You can use watermark fluid and tray. The grill will cause the paper fiber to breakdown and it will normally show in watermark fluid as dark areas were the grill was. This works pretty well for light grills and extremely well for pressed out grills. |

You can also hit it with longwavelength filtered UV light if you got one handy. The grill points will show up as bright points. |

If it is just light paper residue from the envelop I would remove by soaking in cool water. |
