I've seen them shown here but can't remember the thread. I thought My 1920 was cool but it was outclassed by really ancient ones. |

Well, it's that time of year again. A particularly good one for the wife and I since this time last year it was not looking like I would be here for this one. Given the extraordinary medical costs for this year (north of $900,000) my stamp budget is not flowing over. But good news is that collecting Christmas Seals is very affordable a complete collection can be assembled for a very modest sum. They are colorful, most have dates printed on them, and they can be nostalgic. And your extras will look great on this year's Christmas cards. Below are a few pages from my collection. If you would like to view the entire collection you can use this link. http://www.stampsmarter.com/seals/s...landing.html br / Don |

Here's my only Christmas seal. I never thought of collecting them before but what a great idea! They'd go well with my Great Britain Christmas issues that I do collect. Does the red cross or any other charitable organization still send them out? I remember when I was a kid (50 years ago) they used to come in the mail. I thought they were cool then and still do. |

I have this lovely little booklet. I like the festive red and green. It includes a page "The Story Of The Seal". It has printed images and date of stamps for years 1907 thru 1949. Followed by ten pages for subsequent years. So I assume this booklet was printed in 1948 or 49. The previous owner filled the book up to 1966. It's missing three stamps. 1907, 1908 and 1911. |

@Stampcrow That is the same book I have. Neat little binder for the Christmas seals. I have hundreds of extras that I use on my cards every year along with vintage Christmas stamps. Pretty soon I wont be able to fit them all on the envelopes. The envelopes are like little works of art, and are probably more interesting then the cards themselves.
@51Stud, Glad to have you here sharing your knowledge. May you see many many more. |

I have found this little book about the story of Christmas seals, and inside 3 nice seals, 2 1910 and 1 1911! |
