It's a cross gutter block from the Farley Special Printings.

Don't leave it in the corner mounts unless the corner mounts have already damaged the block.

That's good to read. I've seen too many $100+ S/S's that were bent or toned in the corner because of corner mounts.

As a side note, for those who pursue the more expensive S/S's or panes, always check the proper dimensions. It's an old trick to "trim" off damaged edges/corners. That's why the dimensions for some of the older or more expensive S/S's are often given in the catalogs.

Along the same lines as KHJ, if you create your own album pages and use hinges, make sure that the paper you use is acid free. Otherwise that will, over time, cause color problems & toning issues with your stamps. Using mounts like Showguard doesn't seem to be a problem however, I may be wrong in that. Just use acid free paper.
