wt1....That's a very nice looking cover.

Bearwithfish,

I seemed to have missed the latter parts of this thread, most likely due to the high volume of postings at SCF lately and my inability to keep up.

Now I see you have a Flag fascination, if you are in need of some holes filling I may be able to help. Just send me Scott numbers.

And if you ever plan to collect Flags worldwide, you know where to come.
Are you collecting Mint or used, Blocks or singles....I may have missed that info as 8 pages is a lot to trawl through whilst sipping my morning coffee ! [Eyes half closed]

If I had seen the rest of the thread earlier I could have sent you a list of US Flags !

I just need more than 24 hours in a day to keep up ! [See, 'It's official,I cannot keep up' thread]

LOL LB1 you are the best !! ok so to clarify the flags I am collecting used US issued stamps with US flags on them both as the subject and not as the subject. I have a massive list just now and am beginning to make my pages once that is complete and I place what I have I will happily post a want list and a duplicate list for those who may enjoy the same....

busy busy busy sorry I had not posted the pix and an update for that matter but the week end turned into a lot of work and some cool times with the kids so I here is a stamp related recap -

my Columbian came in and its in great condition. placed it with the others in there own special book LOL
got in a few of the ebay lots you about and sorted those out..
got in a packet from Stampgirl on a 100 to 100 trade.. wow they are perfect! very nice and a ton the wife was looking for !
received another trade (via Facebook) for South African stamp and they are very interesting even the little one took interest beyond her typical collection LOL.....

started design on album pages and it was going well until......well I dont always pay attention when working on 9 windows at once so I deleted them with out thinking anything about it until I went to open them back up LOL oh well this way I can start fresh and if they come out the same it was meant to be...

ok so I feel really dumb just now ... well always but back to the point.... today I received a wonderful envelope full of Canadian stamps on paper... and for the life of me can not recall who I had asked for them I know all trades had gone out so I dont owe any stamps but the envelope did not have a return address on it and I discovered (much to my dismay) that my kid had gotten so excited she tore the cover to get the postage on it and it was a collectible !! uugg well they are learning..

who ever it was yes it arrived and yes the girls love them and that HUGE flower made my 6 year old dance around in joy for 30 minutes and she had to run straight to grandma's to show it off LOL thank you so much!!

The envelope you described 45 mins before this message was from me. Sounds like they were well-received, and that's what counts! The huge flower was a souvenir sheet on cover, if I remember correctly. The cover was a philatelic show special on postal stationery. It wasn;t unique, so don't worry that it got damaged.

My five-year-old loves butterflies and flowers on stamps as well. Hmmm. Maybe I should make up another packet for your children.

Yes, really. You said these were for your children, so they are a gift from me. Perhaps some day there will be a trading opportunity between us, but not this time, so stop worrying about it, please.

update and question....

i have been working very hard on my flag album and I think its coming along nicely.... issue I have is that the images I am using to show the stamps may not be the correct size and I am not 100% sure how to ensure that they are not to large.... (By the way I am using word for these pages) also short of sending the actual files to people I dont know how to share them so I can get input...any ideas thoughts?

last night was a lot of work on the above and also reorganizing the stamps my better half ran out of room!! so I emptied one of my stock books and gave it over to be a good hubby (she fought hard but I won!) its all good though as mine will be fast being placed as I get the pages done LOL...

If you want a way to share your pages with SCF members, I suggest you open a "free" Photo Bucket account (photobucket.com) and place the files there (file size is not a problem, then) and place a link to it in this forum.

As for the size of your images, if they are in a jpg format that was imported in MSWord as a picture, you should be able to easily shrink or enlarge the size of the graphic to your specific requirements.

yes I can manipulate them but as I dont actually have the stamps (some normal issues should be be fine) the commemoratives may be an issue.. I did not realize I could put them on photo bucket .. thats great I will play around with that later on today for sure!!

While there are a host of exceptions, many of the modern commemoratives in horizontal format would be similar to the Indy 500 stamp being issued later this week. According to the Postal Bulletin, that standard size commemorative is 1.56" x 0.98". So if you want a 0.25" margin around a box for the stamp, add it in to the equation and you'll be at 1.81" wide by 1.23" high. I'd try that as an experiment, printout a sample page and see if it fits your desired result. If not, you can always adjust it to your own preferences.
