nightly update...
re attacked the flag organization list... I missed a ton and had ones that made no sense in the grand plan .... so for those who emailed me lists please give me time.... I will get back to you ... talked with better half and she has some great plans on how to set up the album as its just confusing me to no end.... man I love that woman!! so we are stalled for the moment but working at it I now have the list up to 2011!! wow crazy amount of flags issued LOL .... once we start making pages all flags will move to those .. decided on card stock custom pages. stamps hinged, and page protectors for ease of moving when needed and the added protection to the page and stamps....
also for those who are out side the US sending stamps I know it will take a bit longer than normal for them to arrive security has increased dramatically with recent political events... I will not get into a political debate here but will simply state that as long as our government is keeping every one safe I can be patient a bit longer to help in that regard... sometimes the greater good is what matters most...
also have my first auction up and hope it does well... would like to earn enough to buy some more LOL ....
as for the Columbus stamps I am divided on whether or not to trade them out... any pointers would be helpful.... not really in any of my focuses so it should not hang me up as much as it is... |

Quote: as for the Columbus stamps I am divided on whether or not to trade them out My advice would be, if you're not sure, hold on to them for now. It sounds like you have plenty of other stuff to keep you busy, but your interests are developing all the time, and it would be a shame to get rid of such lovely stamps if you are not 100% sure. |

Quote: Looks good for the VT stamp show so far .. You might find it interesting that the North Bennington, VT post office has a special cancellation available that will coincide with the event. You can probably get them at the show, I'm sure, but if you want the cancel, you can simply send in a SASE to the address noted within 30 days and they will send you one... |

oh my goodness! a lot of your guys trades came in today! wow you have really inspired my 14 year old and I can honestly say I think she is going to make a run at this collection ! finally some small amount of common ground! (those with teens know what I mean)... even hijacked some for myself lol not many but for sure I am now expanding my views.. the flags are my primary but now I am for sure working on the following (passively) KGV, Queen Victoria, and Queen Elizabeth (these are all Canadian)... the skill that was put into these particular stamps is beyond my imagination ... but not beyond my ability to admire....
NOTE: some one today made a "brutally honest" comment to another thread I had. THANK YOU! often this is the best way for me to learn is to have folks point out my mistakes so I can fix them and attempt to not repeat them. please if I am doing something that looks or sounds off point it out and open the floor to a conversation if its needed.... I need a mentor to guid me and this is the place I seek my guidance... thank you thank you thank you.... |

ok stepping back to the current passion my flags.. the list is complete finally!! I have them in order of scott number i have noted if it is a regular size stamp, commemorative long, commemorative tall, and if I know for sure I have it.... I have to identify more at the house at this time but now I can begin the production of pages with help from my better half... under the advice above I also changes the letter case to the correct one fro each stamp in the series when needed. when I figure out how to post an excell sheet properly I will post the final list here so you all can see .. that did not work out so well last time... |

Quote: when I figure out how to post an excel sheet properly Not sure that this forum likes sheets or lists or anything. I copied and pasted output from a Microsoft Works database here but had to use the

around it, the pound or hatch icon third from right, above the message editor. You might also have to change the font to one like Courier New or something non-proportional, with every character having the same width. Also for columns this forum doesn't like columns wider than 5 or 6 (forget) characters, it then makes the column 10 or 12 characters wide as default. |

i think I am addicted to ebay lol ... just got the 4th stamp for the Columbus set !! man and I was not sure I even wanted to keep it yet lol well that makes 5 of them in order .... think I may just finish the set off after all.... its nice to toss in something to keep the focus of the flags from taking over ... well not really a problem as I have most of the work done there (work not collection!!)... made a grid from excel and sized stamps on it so I can start the pages.... now comes the next bit of work.. oh and as always finding new ways to get more and more lol ... oldest really shocked me I started to place my queens in the stock book and she has done some reading at school and was telling me a bit about them.... I was impressed to say the least... |

Well if your going to finish your Colombian set- I definitely want to see them! They fascinate me to say the least. I only got up to the 10c one.[that's 8 total] I thought I had em all up to the $1 but guess not..oh well. someday as my budget allows. |
