I found this article rather interesting, so thought I'd post it. While I don't want to get into either religious or political views, I find it interesting that since there are various religious groups who may observe different Sabbath days, this is the first I had ever read about the US Postal Service making Sunday deliveries in three different communities in the US because the majority of citizens were Seventh Day Adventists:

http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/1...il-delivery/

I didn't think the USPS catered to any one religious group (at least they say that when they issue stamps.) ... but apparently this arrangement has been in place for 81 years.

Where have I been?

Not to mention the Jewish faithful for whom Saturday is the Shabbat.

My first thought on this: at least the USPS hasn't been so blind and incompetent all this time to not realize that it has to cater its services to its customers.

My second thought after reading this bi of text in the link:

"It's an attack on God," resident Evangelina Pellecer told the Daily Facts. "My husband says he's going to put a cover over our mailbox saying, `Don't deliver on Saturday.' ... If they're delivering my mail, for me, they're violating my right not to do work on the Sabbath."

...is that these people are either off their rockers, or CNN really knows exactly what lines to publish to perk their readers.

I see no way how their right not to work (on any day!) is in any-way violated by another person's exercise of their right to work.

Later on in the article, however, it becomes clear to me that these people are more interested in other people acting the same way as they do, than their ability to exercise their own freedoms which to me is thumbs down.

In my opinion, let them go without any weekend delivery, save the USPS some money, and make everyone happy. Easy fix!
