Since everyone likes to give their opinions on such things, should I keep these "as is" or soak those Cinderellas off of the covers? I have two or three sets just like them, no cachet, only the 1936 Cinderella stamp that probably was affixed after the fact:

If you choose to soak them off the covers, you will be committing a heinous act!

Seriously, if you want a mint set, shop around. I got these for a few dollars

I agree. jubilee and I seem to have the same kind of taste for BOB stuff. I wouldn't soak them off the cover. You can find a set of those pretty easy.

wt1,

I would happily take a set of these covers if they are for sale.
Is there a San Diego Expo stamp with the Brown or Green label to make it a full set ?

I am interested anyway.

Thanks for the comments. I just thought I'd ask because seeing such nice engravings as shown on these Cinderellas sitting on some old uncacheted covers made me think that maybe it lost some of its attractiveness. However, I guess leaving them alone is the best solution.

Unfortunately, I don't have a complete set of the San Diego Expo stamp. When I made this post, I was concentrating on the Cinderellas and not the stamps. Actually, I have a mix-match of several:

(3) LL Stamps from Michigan Centennial SS with
Cinderellas in Brown, Green & Blue (no Red)

(3) LR Stamps from Texas Centennial SS with
Cinderellas in Brown, Green & Blue (no Red)

(2) UR Stamps from Connecticut Tercentenary SS with
Cinderellas both in Red only (no other colors)

(3) UR Stamps from San Diego Expo SS with
Cinderellas in Red, Brown & Blue (no Green)

That's why I originally thought that a soaked off matched set of the Cinderellas might be more pleasing than the mismatched set of covers.

wt1,

Me again !
If you take out the Texas Centennial with the brown label and replace it with a San Diego and Brown label then I would be interested !

Or does that seem unfair ?
Are all the cancels the same ? I assume they are.

they've been there for 75 years, I'd leave them as they are.

I imagine that the labels were affixed in lieu of cachets.

To me their attractiveness is enhanced by being presented with the exhibition postmark. Off cover, they are just another set of labels, albeit very attractive ones.

If they were mine, they'd stay exactly as you've shown them.

I think they're a beautiful set and should be kept intact. I agree with tomiseksj that they were probably attached in lieu of cachets.
Just a lovely package all around.
