This stamp is similar to a couple of other 1950ish Chile stamps but I can't find the right one. My catalog eyes may have left town cause I don't see it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Jeff

Hi Jeff, It's Chile SG T338 from 1942. It's an obligatory tax stamp issued for use only in the city of Talca to pay for the bicentennial celebration.

Scott has a long note about this stamp before Scott #RA1 but doesn't give it a full listing.

Hi Jeff

You really have to get a Minkus Latin America catalog. According to the 1980 Minkus (note values updated to today dollars):

Seal of Talca: The lion Approaches the sun
O'Higgins proclaimed Independance at Talca Feb 12 1818.
200 Anniversary founding of Talca
