There are so many posts now,
I can't keep up.
SCF is too popular ?

If I miss replying to anybody,
it is not intentional.

Phew! who said Philately was dying?

I'm with you Rod.
It's becoming harder each day.
I just posted one message and then I need to read 4 !

Trying to decide whether to go to bed or not.

Londonbus1...I don't think there's time, so I won't.

Rod, I agree it is hard to keep up. But I think this forum is good for the hobby. Having visited some of the other sites you would believe that the members were born experts and never had to bother with the basic stamp ID or basic questions. I think much of the increased popularity here is that all questions, from very basic to very advanced or specialized, received a courteous response.
I guess if we can't keep up we have no one to blame but ourselves.

The problem is people like Rod2222 keep clogging this board with useful and interesting information.

Oh wait, isn't that what they are supposed to do?

Yes there is so much info here that I do not get to all the forums.
It is like a good book that never ends.

Rod, here is another elephant stamp for you - or rather, an elephant stamp that never was.

A photographic essay for Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika, circa 1935.

The essay is going under the hammer this weekend at Cambridgeshire Philatelic Auctions. Estimate was £80.

KGV Collector, the very discussion we were having last night, so much info to absorb, not enough time. I learn new things every day here because everyone contributes.

I searched pretty far and wide before I landed here and as much as I don't know squat I feel welcome and rather cozy. Just in my short time I've noticed a steady amount of new members that are staying and calling SCF home.
The good thing is the new post menu on the left but the bad thing is the new post menu on the left. I swear I watched a post go from top to bottom in about 10 minutes just last night where a few months ago a post would hang for at least a few hours. Have to start using forums a bit more to look for the post your interested in. Growing pains are always fun but we all owe alot to the founders of the board.
By the way who are the founders??

Thanks Plateflaw :)
the expensive Elephant.

Well, I guess we all know the situation
(esp Nitro's observation of a dropping thread down the list)

It's good to have it on record though,
and now to learn how to vet just personal choice of threads,
even though one likes to be nosey with all comments.

I thought I would post the elephant here in case you missed it in your elephant stamp thread. Adding to the confusion really

I will post it there too, just to be safe.

One measure of this is how long a topic stays in the "Last 100 Active" list. When I joined last year, it could take weeks for some topics to drop off the list. Now it just takes a day or two. I know I am missing things. Thank goodness for the ability to search!

I have been other places and and dropped them because they get snotty about helping or spend to much time playing politics. This is by far the best site I have ever found for the discussion of stamps. Thanks all Tony (lockumupthrowawaykey).

And I thought that I was the only one having trouble keeping up. I get frustrated when I know that I have responded to a topic and would like to see subsequent posts, but can't remember just what I responded to. I do, if it seems important to me, bookmark the page and then use the bookmark as the link back to the forum page.

However, it is a nice problem to have.
