Received a cert from Bill Weiss yesterday for the 491 I bought on ebay 2 weeks ago-- "genuine, left perf tips cut straight, otherwise sound".

For those who are Wash/Frank collectors, you know how tough this stamp is, and for those who aren't, the Wash/Franks may be a little scary, but there are several good books available (not all in print, but still available) that make the entire subject very easy to understand. Consider finding a copy of Martin A Armstrong's book--

Best part, is I paid-- get this-- $40. I've looked on ebay and on bidStart, and there is not another used single out there, with a cert, and sound, that is anywhere near the centering of this stamp. I think I may have found a gem here...any thoughts?..just wanted to flaunt this one. Thanks for looking-- Ray

Oohhh the type 2 ... I think I have one of these, one day I look at it it's a type 2 and another day I look at it it's a type 1, it drives me up the wall because it has caricaturists of both lol

Great buy. I would probably have thought of this as a $0,20 item if it crossed my way though. Only shows the importance of knowledge.

Congratulations!
That one has been on my list for many years!
Hopefully, I'll get lucky and find a similar deal some day.
