I saw these on ebay the other day and couldn't resist the urge to win the lot at any cost (I can't imagine what attracted me to them).

If anyone has information on the maker of the cachet on the addressed FDC I'd appreciate learning it. Thanks.

Couldn't agree more, Russ. In 36 days of fighting on Iwo, 6,825 Americans died in service of their country.

Cover #1 is Nu-Art Cachet (it is printed on the lower left of the cover);
Cover #2 is Fidelity Cachet (it was produced in several colors, also);
Cover #3 is unknown to me, as I have not seen that example before, but it is a very attractive period cachet.

wt1, thanks. I had assumed the second was a "McIntyre" but your input suggests that McIntyre was a designer for Fidelity just as I believe "H. K." was for NU-ART.

I have always had a special place in my heart for the stamps and covers. My father was wounded in the Iwo Jima invasion. He knew one of the men who raised the flag.
