Quality is as important as Quantity. SCF has both! Congratulations and thanks to all site owners, moderators, admin and members. |

Scb, with respect, we scrutinized that 'other place' carefully some time back and found that out of 50 topics listed, 18 were non-stamp related, basically games for the bored such as "Counting by 1's", "Three words only", "Movie stars alphabetically" etc etc. The reason these particular topics were active is because one's postings there counted towards a members total posts that gave the Member a little colored STAR or DIAMOND/GEMS etc. That administrators "marketing tool" should not contribute towards hits, imo. Just possible that some estimates take this fact into account while others don't. |

SCF is my number one destination on the internet. If I don't get to visit each day, I have the feeling that I have missed something. It is good to have a place where you can ask your questions, occasionally share your stamps and even comment off topic sometimes.

SCF is living proof that harmony will always triumph over discord. The latter maybe more interesting in the very short term, but like food that is too rich, eventually the palate tires and good nutritious food (i.e. chocolate) returns to be the staple diet for a long, happy life.
mmm I'm hungry for more...

Most interesting are the numbers themselves, not who's ahead or who's the winner. Look at how many collectors there are out there that visit their favorite forum, regardless of which one it is. The numbers only indicate those of us that go to a forum, how many collectors out there don't bother with the WEB at all?
The point I'm trying to make is that we, as a collecting group, are many more than I thought but, many less than what were 20 years ago.

Quote: It's interesting how much real numbers differ from Compete's estimates: Compete is a complete joke. I've never seen it within 25% of accurate on any site I own. Quote: Like they say, there are "Lies, damned lies, and statistics" Statistics predict the past perfectly.... and that's it. |

Now, I know there are several refugees here from That Other Place That Must Not Be Named. I'm a member of both, and a Supporter of SCF. I see strengths and weaknesses in both. Both have their places. But let's play fair. That Other Place is not the home of discord and the place of weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. Back in 2008, I started a thread on the Indian States there. Since that time, the thread has had 4339 posts and 51,087 visits - and I defy anyone to find discord or unpleasantness anywhere among the 4339 posts. There are plenty more examples beside it. I understand why many of the refugees deserted That Other Place, and I sympathise with one or two of them. But do let's keep the discussion on an adult level, and leave the Third Grade name-calling for the schoolyard. |

You are no fun whatsoever! I still look in from time to time to see if there's any bargains on offer, but sadly........... |

I'm a member of both, but honestly, that other place rarely has anything I remotely care about, thus I only rarely stop in. It just doesn't cover any of my collecting interests, here does, therefore here I am. |

It seems like everything has been well said but I add. SCF has not bullied me as my computer skills have grown from basically nothing to being able to list on line.
To me that is the real difference. The SCF family gave me that opportunity to grow and did not cut off at the roots. The Australia KGV Stamps explained would not have made it else where. Thanks to everyone, a great to grow.

Quote: Congratulations and thanks to all site owners, moderators, admin and members. Don't thank us, it's you guys that make this a great site. With the harmony among members (most of the time), us Mod's are just about unemployed. (except Bobby, he has to work harder, but he earns the big bucks)LOL Steve |

I suppose it would be in BAD taste to list the other forums here? That's OK because been there, done that, got the T-Shirt. I like it here, thank you very much... |
