I have been away from collecting for more than 30 years, finally looked at my old collection and one I received from my uncle. Basically 5 "Citation Stamp Albums" Several shoe box's with his old extra stamps filed in letter size envelopes, and a few box's of "in progress" of being files in the albums.

I see how things have changes, you have online resources, auctions, etc etc. Forums like this to assists you, share idea etc. Then there are way to collect that I have never before thought of, colors, watermarks, etc etc..

Well let the adventure start,,, I look forward to finding stamps, working on both my own and my uncles albums, trading etc.

I'm like you marko. I returned to my long neglected collection last year after more than 30 years. Now I'm obsessed.
There are lots of ways to go. I've now specialized, whereas, when I was a kid, I collected everything. Both have been fun.
Specializing has been good, I can focus on what I want to get. But I end up with so many other wonderful specimens (the aim is to sell/trade those for what I need) that it's hard to part with some of them, and the specialization expands.
The nature of the beast.
Welcome, you'll enjoy it here.

marko1959,

Welcome back! 30 years is a long time, just about enough to raise a family, build a carrier, pay off the house and stuff like that.

Now comes the fun part and this is a great place to spend some time. Show us your new/old finds as we would all love to see them.

I was away from stamp collecting for a while as well, a little over 10 years. Internet has revolutionized the hobby since I collected in my younger days, and all the information and help you need is just a few taps on the keyboard away. Earlier I collected Norway and sport stamps, but now I have found a lot of new exciting areas I collect (and want to collect). So yes, let the adventure begin marko, I am certain you will enjoy the ride. I sure has and still are.

Thanks all for the welcomes. The wife just shakes her head, she can't understand it but she supports me. I have realized I will start looking for special interest area's, Croatia, Austrian/Hungry, Ireland, since my relatives are from there. And well the good ol USA, since my uncle left me a pile of stamps from here.

If you want some help with all those old U.S. just let me know and I'll be very happy to help you out. Just send them to me in one big box and I'll return the ones in one small box that I think you will want to keep.
