I'm not knowledgeable about stamps and was hoping I could get some advice here. I have some stamps that came from my grandmother's estate, and have no idea if they are of any value at all. I have tried and found no local resources, if anyone here could offer any advice, I would appreciate it. Just in case anyone is interested, here is a scan of a photocopy, sorry for the quality. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/77776/img-Z...436-0001.pdf

First of all, welcome to the Stamp Collecting Forum.

I was able to view your attachment, however, from what I can tell they are a relatively common worldwide collection, typical of the imprinted glassine envelope you show that suggests 50 cents for 25 stamps. Colorful, and representative of many areas of the world, they make for a great starter collection for a beginner, but the value is quite minimal.

Typically common, used stamps "catalog" for $0.20 to $0.50 each, and selling prices on the secondary market usually are only a small percentage of that figure.

i Tarnation and welcome to the group

As stated previously, the stamps that at are scanned in the pdf file are common stamps.

If you could get to your local library, there should be a set of the Scotts Standard Catalogues (6 volumes to be complete for WW and 7 if the US Specialized is there) and they should show most of the stamps scanned. I did notice a couple of Spanish telegraph stamps in there too but they will not be in those catalogues because they are revenue stamps and too specialized for the normal catalogues.

Welcome to the forum and so you know "WW" means world wide. I did not know that for a long time. lol
also I concur with the consensus that it is a very nice little set of World Wide stamps. You should keep it and expand on it.
