Need Help With Stanton Stamp And Few More Stamps With Pics

Hello,
Hope everyone had great 4th of July!
I know I did,I was left undisturbed for a few whole days sorting my stamps I had a great time sorting "head stamps" well you know,some Roosevelts,KGV,Hitler,Victorias, and some other little fellas,like aussie koalas and I found these,stamps which I really can't identify with clear description.Maybe these are unidentified rarities
The first pic is the E.M. Stanton on thick card/paper..... cut-out?Looks a bit to fresh for me.







The Roosevelt stamp is mng and the horizontal perf. 11 and the vertical perfs 10 and the half.




And this one is mh,with inverted ovpt.missing some lower corner perfs.Guessing it's from the 50's or so.

The revenue stamp at bottom was cancelled 1929...
The center stamp is, if memory serves, a series 1921.
I don't have the exact info in front of me, but it
is from that era.
I have no idea on the Stanton.
It is from the 1880 time frame is all I know.

Someone will chime in that knows alot more!

It appears to me that the Stanton is missing some detail.
It is also non-perf'd...
I wonder if it could be a proof or essay????
I know even less about those, but that would be my guess.

I believe the first scan is an Essay (Scott #149-E6).

The second scan (Roosevelt Stamp, Perf. 11 x 10.5, Rotary Press) is Scott #637.

The final scan is a Playing Card Stamp either Scott RF21 (perf. 11) or RF22 (Perf. 10). I can't tell from the scan which one it is, however, noting that the overprint is dated 1929 and the RF22 was issued in 1929, I'd guess it's the latter.

Thank you for your quick help,just wondering as I'm putting aside various worldwide stamps with everything inverted:watermarks,frames,centers,overprints etc... is this playing card inverted overprint is common or not?

I would say the inverted playing card overprint is relatively common. There are some on this site that have specialized catalogs that can identify the user of that overprint and would have further detail on it, but such overprints are easily inverted and typically command little, if any, premium. I have a 2002 Scott catalog that suggests the stamp (without overprint) is valued at $4, but with the piece torn out of the bottom, that would diminsh its value significantly.

The Stanton is a Die-Proof on card. I'm not at Home with my catalog but i'll post the Catalog number later tonight.

I believe the Stanton is a Scott# 149P4, Catalog value $15.00

By the way,generally many of the world proof stamps are more valuable than regular stamps,due too their limited quantities and "experimental" nature,but this issue is cheaper in proof than in regular issue.What's the reason behind this?

It is on card. According to Scott's, this issue of Proof only came 2 ways, Large Die $250.00 and on Card $15.

I've been looking for that first one. Very nice!
