Just thought I could post this thread to get the feel-good factor back after having heard stories about postal service folks' reluctance to use stamps and(or) hand cancel them.

I went to the post office yesterday to mail a cover back home (international). It came up to $3.30. The kind lady asked me if I would like stamps on there and when I said 'Absolutely', she took the time to actually put in bunch of 44c in complete sets on there (instead of 2 or 3 of same airmails). She hand cancelled them nicely & told me to have a great day.

I wanted to give her a hug.

Ramanandn, it's great to hear stories of exceptional mail service when we tend to only hear people complain of substandard service.

When I hear stories like this, it gives me hope for the USPS. I continue a love/hate relationship with them.
If they'd just go back to using normal stamps instead of those horrible self-adhesive thingies!
