Greetings to all! I live in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA and have been collecting for approximately 58 years. Years ago I collected just about anything, but the last 20 years has been almost exclusively US.

I also am heavy into genealogy, so one of the enjoyments I get from particularly old covers is to research the individual mailed to or who mailed it. Some of my envelopes are from old businesses and contain business enclosures. It is interesting to determine if the business is still active, what is on - say - an enclosed invoice and compare prices to those of today.

As time goes by, I hope to participate more in discussions and possibly donate to worthy orgainzations.

A BIG hello & to the forum. I lived in Concord, NC years ago and traded often with Richard's Stamp Shop. I wonder if he is still there? A pretty good bunch of collectors on this forum and everyone like to help out.

ART:

Richard is still around, but he's moved a couple hours west to Asheville. He organizes/sponsors a "traveling" bourse that makes a regular circuit throughout North & South Carolina. In addition to Richard, there are ususally 6 or 8 other dealers.

Hello NCbuckeye! I bet its fun digging into those old envelopes and invoices! I always like to find ad envelopes that still have their contents!
