Has anyone seen the USPS's Facebook page? I was quite impressed.

They are revealing the new stamps for 2012 one day at a time (which I find annoying.) It is interesting to see people's responses to the designs, though.

There seems to be quite a few stamp collectors on the site.

Yes. I think WT1 mentioned the release schedule [https://goscf.com/t/16974]

So far, I have avoided FaceBook, so I haven't seen the page, but I have been to the "Beyond the Perf" website.

Thanks for sharing,
KirkS

Thanks, Kirk.
I had a blonde moment there. I didn't realize that Facebook had been mentioned in WT1's post.

That makes two of us -- I didn't notice you were the other person who posted in WT1's thread

I didn't mention Facebook before, just the Beyond the Perf website. I think they may just be concurrently announcing the same thing.

An interesting item, the latest announcement of the 2012 issues is a Black Heritage Series stamp for John H. Johnson. I just looked it up and he died in 2005, meaning that this stamp will be issued only 7 years after his death. Remember, the CSAC recently changed the requirement that a person must be dead 10 years to 5 years to be depicted on a stamp. This is a case in point.

Just looked at the Facebook site and reviewed the new 2012 stamps. I noticed that they are all "Forever" stamps. Is this the wave of the future for USA stamps?

Yes. All future first class US Postage Stamps are designated to be "Forever" stamps. If you buy them today at 44 cents, when the postage rates go up, they are still valid, with no need for make-up postage.
