Hi Everyone,
I love stamps like the ones I included in this message. My question is, do they have a theme name? I mean, the stamps sort of tell a story, carrying fruit or grapes from the field, carrying potatoes (?) looks like one lady making a rug?

Anyway, if I wanted to search online for auctions with these types of stamps, (depicting people doing something) what search words would I use? Thank you ever so much!

The first two "agriculture"
2nd a loom, so possible "weaving"?
3rd "conservation" (forest regrowth)

The themes are as wide as you imagination,
a lot of modern philately is turning towards thematics,
it can be great fun.

A good way to dip your toe,
Google with your theme and add "on stamps" and select images

Try .... Weaving on stamps and click images
and see if you like what pops up.

If you go to bidstart.com and enter a term such as agriculture or weaving or wine or whatever and search in stamps, all kinds of things will come up. Then it is just a matter sorting through and finding stamps that actually show the process, such as weaving, and not just the woven cloth. Bidstart.com is a great place for stamps. It began as a stamp auction site but has now moved into other collectibles, as well.

Another way of finding them is to choose what you want from your Scott catalog, then going to bidstart.com and entering the country and the catalog number for your search term in stamps.

all stamps have multiple stories - it depends on what which way you are looing as to what the story actually is

An interesting theme to follow up. I think modern_who's suggestion of chasing it through the catalogues might be the most productive. Identify the stamps you want, and then set out on the chase after them, though dealers, ebay, Delcampe, bidstart and all the rest.

My collection would have very few examples of people doing things. The only one that immediately comes to mind is this

from Bundi State in India. It refers to an old story (or maybe legend): once, several centuries ago, when northern India was ruled by the Muslim Mughals, the Hindu ruler of Bundi State was forced to draw his sword to protect some cows (which are sacred to Hindus) from the Mughals (to whom cows were just food).

I'm not sure how Scott treats these stamps: it's a very complex set. However, this was the first ˝ Anna stamp, issued in 1914.

As huckles888 said, all stamps have stories.
