I've always liked those single colour engraved bird and
mammal definitives from Australia and actually prefered
them over the natural coloured ones.

Thanks for showing them I_Love_Stamps.

I Love Stamps, your lovely stamps brought back a memory about the Platypus. (with members Indulgence)

In 1969, while crossing our local creek (Winding Creek) one morning, on the way to High School, I was amazed to still see a Platypus swimming with a Crawchy (fresh water Cray fish) in it's mouth.

Unfortunately as our suburbs expand the Platypus's coastal habitat diminishes, but they are still plentiful in native bush nearby.

D or d is pence (pennies) and the /3 would also indicate pence after the number before which is Shillings. eg 2/3 which is Two shillings and three pence. Since our shilling had 12 pennies, 2/3 would be a total of 27 pence (pennies).

In 1966 Australia went decimal so 10c was equal to One Shilling (12 Pennies), obviously two penny values had to have the same cent equivalent value, as the penny before it, for it to work.
