My daughter has successfully started her own career and is at the point where sadly a gift card seems to be the most logical Christmas gift. That isn't very personal so today I have set on an idea to get a small sized stock book and fill it with 100 or so stamps that represent fond memories of her growing up and her personal interests. For example, she played soccer so a soccer stamp is a natural. Likewise places she has lived or vacationed or went to school. She studied in London for a while and she is adopted from Korea - see the possibilities? I think it will be a nice present under the tree. But I think I will leave the last page open and include a pair of stamp tongs so she can add to it. Hmmm, maybe I'll do one for myself while I am at it.
That's a nice idea, and if you leave blank pages, you can add to it as well in future birthdays/Christmasses. I sometimes make birthday cards with a stamp or stamps on it that has personal topical relevance to the person. Personalised gifts always mean more than generic ones, and are lovely to give as well as to receive.
You can also create your own album pages using selected stamps with your written interpretation of their meaning in her life. After all- it is a personalized gift from you to her about her. It can be one stamp per page or a grouping of stamps on a related subject.
Wonderful idea. I collect stamps from South Korea if you need any help! My wife is Korean and I thought it would be nice to teach my daughter Korean history and culture via stamps, so I started collecting them and haven't stopped.
One cool idea might be to get her the South Korean stamps they put out for the 2002 FIFA World Cup (soccer) and for Korea's advancement to the final four. I remember watching those games with my wife very fondly.
