Hi,
I have a bunch of these, but I don't quite understand them. I am guessing they are surcharge amounts?

It's interesting that the black number on top are not always higher or lower than the original denomination on the stamp. Why is that?

The orange one is 125 over 1000
brown: 400 over 15
green: 8 over 30
etc.

The word in German script is "Tausend" which is German for "Thousand". These surcharges are all big increases in face value because of the severe inflation in Germany at the time.

Well no wonder I could not find any information, it would help if I spelled the word correctly. LOL.
