Jefferson 1033 Question!

Hello everybody!

My name is Dan and I just recently got into stamp collecting.I looked through a collection that my uncle had that he gave me and I came across Scott #1033. I also noticed that 1033a was another version that only 5000 were made and were made using silkote paper that gave it more of a shine. My question is how would one tell which is which? And also the stamp that I have does not have perforations on the top and bottom which confuses me.

Not to be confused, you have a 1055 or a sub number, it's a coil stamp meaning that it is only perfed vertical and came in a roll, about a billion of these were printed. Sorry to say but as common as a cold.

Any stamp you suspect (hope) is a silkote would have to be sent to be expertized. I collect the Liberty Series, and I know that I would not even come close to the level of expertise needed to identify one. I want one so bad, but just can't justify spending that much on one stamp.
