Please Give Me Info On My Stamp Collection!

Hello I have 3 stamp books that were given to me by my grandma and she got them from her mom. The companies are :Williams Stamp Company, H. E. Harris & CO, Garcelon Stamp co, Littleton Stamp CO, and Moda Stamp Company. I have every country you can think of. Have to many pics to upload so heres my photo bucket Please look and Tell me what you think I am open to any and all information!

Bigaw, hello and welcome to SCF.

It's a bit hard to see individual stamp images via your Link. Maybe go to a site here called 'Testing' and practice posting individual stamp images approx' double + what you have so collectors can clearly see and advise.

If you have difficulty, try going to 'Rules'. (heading along the top row)
Then scroll down to the heading 'Posting Rules', you will see 'Images in Posts'. Click onto 'this imageshack topic'(in Blue or Red) and follow the instructions.

I looked at your stamps...
They all have minimum value. I didn't see anything there worth more then a 1.00

There are a couple of pieces that might be worth a few bucks each. The 10cent Washington and a couple of others are decent pieces but in Stamps, condition is everything so we would need better pictures to really give you a fair valuation.

What you do have is a great start on your own collection. Make it your own by continuing to grow the collection. I'm sure your Mother & Grandmother would be real happy to see what they started and grew, grow into something more than what they had. Its a great opportunity to get into the hobby yourself. people on this forum will be glad to answer any questions and make suggestion as to how best to organize and continue the collection.

Like I said, you have a great start on your own collection, keep it going. It's a very relaxing and rewarding hobby, even when you don't spend big $$ on it, nor do you need to.

to SCF and I hope to see some more post in the near future.

Welcome blgaw. I'm sorry to say but I really don't see anything of tremendous value but like stallzer stated you need to post better pictures. I hope you find out what your looking for but a word of wisdom here: please refrain from "yelling" (all capital letters). Thank you and please browse the forum for in-depth info. I'd like to have that 10¢ Washington. Great design IMO. -Jeff

You have a REALLY nice start to a collection there.
I am only into US stuff, so I can't really comment
on the world stamps, but there are several US stamps
there that I would be proud to have. I noticed that
a couple of the common classics were uncommonly well
centered...

I got started collecting when my father passed and
left me his collection. I am much happier this way
than if I had sold it, which we seriously considered.
All in all, stamps are an inexpensive hobby that you
can pass down to your grandkids. Just think what they
will say one day: I got this collection from granddad,
and he got it from his grandparents!

It isn't always possible to give accurate drive-by assessments.

Sometimes the differences between a $1 stamp and a $20 stamp aren't easily detectable...sometimes the difference between a $20 stamp and a $600 stamp can't be identified by a scan, at all.

Then you have specialist matters, like desirable postmarks/cancels or perfins.

Often, out-of-the-ordinary values are only readily recognizable by specialists, and you only become a specialist by spending a lot of time looking at stamps.

So, a generalized assessment of "they look ordinary" is what it is. They look ordinary...but one or another might not be ordinary. That's just the way it is with stamps.

cjd is absolutely right! I'm sorry as I didn't mean to come off so harsh I just had surgery and sort of "cranky" I guess..lol. Anyway, I enjoyed looking over your collection and there are certainly a few possibilities hidden in there. That's the fun of stampin' for most of us. Welcome and have fun and enjoy the information here and especially your collection and finding out what your grandmother/Father knew! Let the fun begin!
