How do you tell the difference between SN 737 and 738? It's the Mother's of America issue of 1934. One is flat press and one is rotary press.

Welcome Fat Boy!

The easiest way is to measure the perforations. The #737 rotary press is Perf. 11x10.5 and the flat plate printed #738 is Perf 11.

welcome to the group Fat Boy. Glad to have you with us and a great question that comes up often. Lots of stamps change considerably in value depending on flat plate or rotary press. The web site given to you should help and learning how to tell the difference is really a priority for early 1900 US identifications. Good luck, keep asking and again - WELCOME! - jeff
