My guess is the one on the right is a 150 because I can't see the secret mark mentioned below, top picture.
The secret marks are shown here.

As for the stamp on the left it's hard to see with your scan, and it looks like the cancel covers where the secret mark on the upper panel would be.
You'll have to get close and personal.

OK, I think I have it! tell me your thoughts. I looked at them both very closely with my 30x loupe and came up with what I believe them to be. Both have no grill and I could see through the cancellation ink relatively well and barring no other possibilities - #146 & #187 (no secret mark)

Sorry ILS, I mistyped before when I wrote 146. That is the 2c. It is reddish brown which made me think of your stamp, but of course the denomination is wrong. My bad.
I think your first instinct was correct at 150.
Did you count the vertical lines on the left side, for four or five lines?
Nice examples by the way. I myself just picked up a 209 last weekend.

It's a lighthouse brand perforation gauge. Thank you.

Also I think both of those may be different variations of the 209 brown and 209b

what's the major difference between the #150 and a #209? The one the right is giving me a headache! No secret markings, only 4 vertical lines. I think the color may be a big clue. Is their a special perf size I should be looking for maybe?
Also when dealing with written perforation measurements, is it vertical then horizontal or the other way around? Thank you.

Hi I_Love_Stamps

If you have a Scott US Specialized the identifier section and the details in the listings should help identify the stamps. You could also use http://www.1847usa.com/.
