I've started a new collection, and am considering including a few covers in it. I've never collected covers before.

What I'd like help with is a good way to mount the covers on album pages. Scott mounts seem like an expensive option. Hinges might work, since I don't have to worry about gum damage, but I don't think they will be strong enough. I'm also thinking that clear photo covers might work.

What works for y'all.

Hi Kflowers,

For my Covers, I'm using 2 slot vario sheets, depending on whether you want to see the back of the covers or not, you get either 2 or 4 covers per sheet. They display very nicely that way. And no danger of them falling off the page.

Like Dave9911 I use Vario 1 and 2 slot sheets (clear and black) for my covers - they are reliable and easy to use

I'm switching over, and as someone here said in another post to the topic, if there is interesting back stamp or marking, you can cut it out so visible from both sides. :)

If you wish to mount a cover onto an "ordinary" album page and not in a vario, you should obtain some corner mounts from Subway. These are adhesive and are small triangular thingies that slip over the corners of your cover. they are transparent. The adhesive holds the corner mount to the page and the cover slips into and out of the corner mount has desired.

If you wish further protection for your covers, Subway also sells clear plastic protection covers for covers. They come in various sizes. You place the cover into the protecter and then secure the cover onto the page with the corner mount.

Lastly,

Great answers - thanks for the help. I particularly like the idea of a cut-out to show back details on corner mounted covers!
