I just received some stamps from a friend and some are overlapped, so I would like to soak them. The only one I don't have in my collection is the Ronald Reagan stamp. Will this soak OK?
You could try the lighter fluid & metal straight-edge "trick" but depending on the ink you might want to try a drop of it on the worst one first to see. Good luck on whatever you decide to do. ~Jay
here is an instructional video on how to do it if your unsure.
I have some of these new Reagan stamps on paper, trimmed close around the stamp. I'll be happy to look through the ones I have for the one with the best cancel and send to you. If interested, send you address by PM and it's yours.
You could also try using the lighterfluid routine to get the stamp off the paper and disolve the adhesive.
I must say I use "I Love Stamps" method on all US diecut now. It works a treat I have a bottle of "Diggers White Spirits" from Bunnings and it is just a marvelous way to deal with them. Not sure about long term.
