I just received some stamps from a friend and some are overlapped, so I would like to soak them. The only one I don't have in my collection is the Ronald Reagan stamp. Will this soak OK?

Any help...?

No, unfortunately not.
Doesn't seem to go that late.

I thought you could dig down for it,
but you were right, a large discussion-political
without any news of soakability.

I would say.. just don't soak it. I leave all modern SA's on paper, with the paper neatly trimmed.

You could try the lighter fluid & metal straight-edge "trick" but depending on the ink you might want to try a drop of it on the worst one first to see. Good luck on whatever you decide to do. ~Jay

here is an instructional video on how to do it if your unsure.

NOTE: I have had very good luck doing ths but I do find it very time consuming.

Fortunately the Reagan stamp is on top of the other stamp, so I may just cut around it anyway.

Oh Tiggermob,

I have some of these new Reagan stamps on paper, trimmed close around the stamp.
I'll be happy to look through the ones I have for the one with the best cancel and send to you.
If interested, send you address by PM and it's yours.

You could also try using the lighterfluid routine to get the stamp off the paper and disolve the adhesive.

It's OK Dave.
Thanks for the offer, but it would cost more in post than the stamp is worth. I will just trim close to this stamp.

Thanks

Steve

I must say I use "I Love Stamps" method
on all US diecut now.
It works a treat
I have a bottle of "Diggers White Spirits" from Bunnings
and it is just a marvelous way to deal with them.
Not sure about long term.
