i lose track of time but mabe 4 years ago my wife saw that a guy in Germany had a Europa Forerunners collection on ebay...she bid on it and won it..300 bucks and 40 dollars shipping..so she puts $340 in a envelope and mails it to the guy...i am thinking will we ever hear from that 340 bucks again !! Not only does she gets the album..but the guy said in this case he would accept dollars instead of Euros..at that time there was mabe a 15 or 20 cent difference..my wife thinks positive thats all I can say !!

Internet part deux ! about 10 years ago this woman gets ahold of my e mail address and has her fathers stamp collection for sale..she prefers to sell it privately rather than go the ebay route..we hem and haw back a few times and I get fair vibes on the deal..we agree on 360 dollars...two large cartons so its 300 for the collection and 60 for the shipping..she would have liked more but I told her that was my limit..she requested a postal money order and I sent it...The guy had 9 handmade albums about the size of a mid sized commercial album ..18,000 stamps...the only thing was he picked up collecting in the 1970s and the bulk of the stamps were late 1960s to early 1990...good catalog value..and a lot of swappers for me..but relatively few that fit my collecting years..i consider it a fair deal..my wife says I got a steal...so here are two examples of where fair dealing was done with people sight unseen over the net !

Over the last few years, ebay, combined with PayPal after ebay bought them out, have made buying and selling online a whole lot easier and safer with far fewer problems. Except for sellers who don't accurately describe their offerings on ebay.

I think your were incredibly lucky in Part I. Some people that handle mail seem to be able to smell cash and have sticky fingers. You must live a righteous life!

In Part II you were also lucky in getting a good deal from a nice lady. If we ever meet I just want to rub your head once.
