Looking for another opinion on a "Scott 10a" I received today. After looking at it, it appears to me that its a Scott 11a. Can others confirm which it is?

I don't like leaving negative feedback if I can help it. and I have already contacted the seller about my opinion and can get a full refund.

Art, Looks 11A to me. Hopefully Sinclair will confirm as I feel he is the most knowledgeable on this issue.

Hey Art!
It sounds like you are fairly well convinced that this is a 11a and not a 10a and if the color is anything close to being real I would agree with you. I congratulate you in seeking the input of others before hammering a ebay seller. I am sure you realize, leaving a item not as described negative feed back on ebay is a disaster for sellers.
I might look at the overall seller prior to leaving any feed back. You said he was willing to work with you and take the item back and issue a full refund, including shipping? What does the rest of his feed back look like? Is there a trend of other buyers having issues? What were the other items he had listed? Is the seller listing the normal ebay fodder or this an upscale seller? Also how fast did he respond to you?
I think all these need to be considered, after all anyone can have a bad hair day, well maybe not me. Most of mine fell out several years ago. LOL

I'm not familiar with the issue, but if you're convinced, tell the seller your conclusions, and ask for the full refund (and return shipping, if you feel it warranted). Then, personally, I'd leave positive feedback that the seller acknowledged a mistaken ID and took the material back. Everyone makes identification errors; it's what a seller does when that happens that's important.

Just my two cents' worth.

Art, a better image would be nice but I am nearly positive, based on color, it is not a #10A. It is a top row copy so it would be very easy to plate and confirm with 100% certainty.

It goes back in today's mail. I don't believe the seller was trying to pull anything. He replied back real quick, easy to believe that he's an honest dealer and I'll leave positive feedback for him. However, this still means that I'm looking for a decent Scott 10 & 10a, if anyone has duplicates they want to part with...

Now this I believe IS a Scott 10a. I may go after it and see what happens. There are a few thing wrong with it so I may continue to look around and see what else I can find.

Did you end up with that last stamp that you posted? The color looks very nice and is a dead ringer for a #10A.

I will let you know of some stamps on ebay if you are still looking.

No, I didn't get it. I thought $85.00 was too much for it so I'm still looking. I do think the dealer will get his price but, not from me, not today.
