I can't believe it, so I need to ask ... if they are 43 and not a TnT that is escaping me, they are worth (a bit) more than my usual 20c. Thanks!

Edit: oops, forgot to mention they are all Perf. 10.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but if you're asking about the three stamps you scanned, they are all Type 43 and very common (20 cents may be a generous value to be placed on them.) There is a Type 225 that looks similar, although a bit larger in the typeface.

Here are two of my Bridgeport, CT 1-1/2 cent Hardings. Although one is a coil, it shows the differences between the Type 43 (left stamp) and Type 225 (right stamp):

I appreciate the assistance ... but I still don't understand.

My PSS TnT doesn't list a 225 for New Haven, so the one on the right must be 43.

The typeface on the three is identical, so as you say, I think they are all 43?

They are perf. 10.

A Perf.10 1.5c #43 is listed in the Bureau catalog as $7.50 for Bridgeport and $6.50 for New Haven.

Which is a long way from the 20c (or 10c), so am I still missing something?

I think the confusion might be in that you are assuming your three stamps are Perf. 10. It's difficult to tell from a scan, but I view the perfs different in the horizontal and vertical positions, so I suspect they are all Scott #633 (Perf. 11 x 10.5), of which there are 147 known different Bureau precancels, including the Type 43 (shown in your scan) for both Bridgeport and New Haven.

Middle stamp is 11x10.5 the others are perf 10. Yes they are a long way from 0.20 in catalog value.

Thanks, guys.

So it seems I have learned:

a) my reading of the USED catalog value is wrong , because I was looking at the RH column (which is for blocks of 4 / coil pairs, as per p.xix of the PSS Bureau Catalog, 5th ed.) instead of the L (singles).

b) the P.10 New Haven stamp in my original scan is indeed "worth" only 15c ($6.50 in a block of 4, though - wow!).

c) the Bridgeport stamps are somewhat better than (my) average -- the P.10 version on the L of my original scan is cv $1 and, unusually, the more recent P.11x10.5 in center of the scan is rarer, at cv $2.50 (blocks would be $7.50 and $10).

d) wt1 and I both need to check our abandoned blocks and pairs ASAP!

Thanks!

Values are 1$, 2.50$, 0.15 respectively... I forgot I had a borrowed catalog here at home.
The higher values you quoted are for BLOCKS.

Hey - I got it right finally. Thanks!

I realize $1 and $2.50 are pretty minimal in the scale of things, but "finds" like these are still exciting to me in a grab-bag that cost only a few dollars total.
