That is a good trick to know. I'm still waiting for the other one to arrive from Guatemala that I won at an SCF auction. I'm starting to get nervous now as it's been a couple weeks but I was assured that it's not uncommon to take that long. But I'll scan them when I get them all! |

I_Love_Stamp Sometimes you amaze me $13.00 what a steel. even with the bad perf's it should have sold for $20.00 to $25.00. Very nice Also, for some reason when I have tried to e-mail you in the past, you never seem to get them, and I wanted you to see this. This is wholesale set that I have up for auction in my eBat store. http://stores.ebay.com/INDEPENDENCE-STAMPS |

ILS..
Some people, like me, will not buy altered stamps, regummed, cleaned, or reperfed. The only reason to alter a stamp is to make it more valuable. If it had had a straight edge, would you have still bought it?

@stampvirgin: I would have definitely bought it. I mean, how many (natural) straight edged 113's have you ever seen?
@Seal: that's because I don't have your email address. mine is eljeffo420 at yahoo dot com Please write me as I need to ask you a question about that #1 |

@theSeal Might be a little too rich for my blood at the moment but I might take that sc#1 red/brown off your hands though. |

The reperf had to have been to improve centering. The 113 was printed from plates of 300 subject in 2 panes of 150 each (10x15) arranged horizontally. The 2 panes were separated by a vertical guideline where the panes were cut. The natural straight would be vertical, not horizontal. The plate also had 2 horizontal guidelines (between rows 5-6 and 10-11) that were perforated to facilitate breaking the panes to blockes of 50 (10x5). |

I didn't know that. That's good info Russ thank you. I'm still quite happy with it; hopefully I have yet another on the way from Guatemala but it seems to be taking it's good ole time. It'll get here though. |

If I had spent $1300 on a reperfed stamp, I'd probably kick myself. If I spent $13 on a good-looking stamp that fills a nice hole, I'd be happy.
All of us, and I mean all of us, have bought stamps that weren't exactly what we expected, or appreciated, at the time of purchase. Sometimes it is for the better; sometimes it is for the experience. |
