I have been thinking how to mount my sheetlets on album pages in some affordable manner. If I use a Vario page I estimate it will cost me about a dollar. If I use a custom mount - well that is going to cost me 2-3 dollars and I have to buy them in packs of 5. Self-sticky corner mounts seem dangerous. So I am working on a new idea that seems to work fine for me. First, I should mention that I put all of my album pages in a sheet protector and I could just leave the sheetlets in those along with a backing page - but they tend to slip around and I worry I will get a corner crimped. So now I just take a standard horizontal US commemorative mount and cut it along the horizontal split with a scissor - now I have two mounts of the same length and half the height. I line up my sheetlet on the page I want it on and lightly mark with a pencil the bottom corners. Then I put the two half-mounts on the pencil lines. I slip the sheetlet into the mounts - almost invisible - and put the page in the sheet protector. Now it doesn't move around and I did it for the price of one mount. The sheet protector is key of course. I could put a "locking" mount on the top as well but so far I have not had need to. I'm happy.

Great idea! I have a lot of sheets not in my album because of a lack of the large mounts

But wouldn't it still be able to slide side to side unless you also use a side lock?

I might try that out but using the smaller mounts cut the same way and put one in the center of each side.

I think since I use a sheet protector it helps lock them in from moving. But you certainly could lock them in on the side. I think you could also cut sort of a corner piece like a photo mount and use two of those in the bottom corners.
