I think I have asked this before,
dashed if I can find the reference.

Stamp : Revenue Circa 1879
(from the complex Sands and McDougall issues)
St George and the Dragon
Australia : Victoria 1 pound

I'll probably not ID the stamp fully
because I don't want to take it off piece.

Perf 12 Orange on yellow

Barefoot cites on "meshed and unmeshed paper"
In a philatelic sense, what does that mean?
how do we distinguish?
Thanks

Sorry to trouble you further,
would this be same / similar to "wove" paper?

Under magnification this one has a surface
as I would compare to a plastered wall, no visible
pattern at all, so unmeshed.
Thanks a lot!

Rod, 'wove' is simply another way of describing 'meshed' paper. If you've tried everything to detect a mesh on that stamp, and can't, it should be unmeshed.
