I've got about 40 of those... at least 30 of which is as good as the one he's selling! A 20 cent stamp for $150.00, I wonder if he'll buy my 30 for $5.00 apiece?

stallzer,
Not seeing the back of the stamp, I wouldn't even pay $3.00... So, I didn't vote.

PSE lists MNH 95 @ $65.00 and MNH 98 @ $225.00. But I have seen similar stamps go for $1000.00, at my age there are few suprises left. |

Assuming the best case scenario (Superb Jumbo, MNH), I would personally pay up to $20. If it happens to be graded Gem 100, I have seen similar stamps listed for $1500. If gem 100J and sold at a Siegel auction? The sky's the limit ... |

I didn't vote either, as I wouldn't pay those prices for it. It's not such a rare stamp. The centering is good, but don't know that it would qualify as "superb". In fact, I recall seeing an ebay listing not too long ago where the seller mathematically calculated perfectly even margins to prove the extra value being asked for the stamp. At those prices, the seller should provide an expertizing certificate to confirm the grading being claimed. While it may be "flyspecking", do I judge the lower left hand corner of the stamp as having a slightly pulled perf, of which that alone would diminish the grading of a "superb" specimen? |
