I think I tend to be pretty frugal (read cheap) and try to get stuff inexpensively. I'm pretty impressed by some of your budgets.
This past year I got a US #69 for $22.50, a certified Confederate #8 Jackson for $30 and a US C18 Baby Zep for $27. I guess those are the most I've spent on individual stamps. I just won a collection of used and mint Canadians on KMP (my first win there) for just shy of $25. Haven't received them yet.
I guess my best buy was my US #76 for which I paid $12.50, but turned out to be a #75 worth about $550 catalogue. Those are always nice when that happens.

44 cent forever stamp

Which will be 45c in 3 months. That's assuming USPS is still around in 3 months.

Gee, Being retired and on a fixed income now, I thought $35 for a 10 cent Nebraska overprint was a big purchase.
Those number 1's and 2's are outstanding!

I don't recall buying a single stamp,
possibly by individual cost, a minisheet
from SCF auctions...say $2

If you happen to include literature, then $120

oh well the #2 is elsewhere on this site...

I can say the most I ever spent on a single stamp was around ~500.00

Oh my! Those are beautiful TheSeal

Can't say I've spent much one 1 stamp so far since I've only been back in the hobby for a month and half or so. Have spent more on mounts to turn my Heirloom into a hingeless album than any stamps to this point. Picked up a few inexpensive hole fillers so far here and there. These 3 are probably the most I've sunk at once. Always wanted them, never had them before:

Isn't it awesome when that happens?
Someone's mistake is someone else's gain.

remember that #9 that turned out to be a #5 a few months ago? That guy got a great find... a 150.00 stamps turns out to be a 80,000 stamp. (it sold for around 35,000, it was in bad condition but still rare)

I heard of that album but thought I read they cancelled the orders for it cause it wasn't ready yet. I'm having fun making my own anyway. I'm done up to about 1930 so far with what stamps I already own. Everything on up is about 90% complete with about 75% of that being mint and already in mounts from that last go around I had with stamps about 10 years ago.

SV, the stamp shown by Ron is the August issue (from plate 2 without the corner ornaments). It was formerly listed as Scott 56 but is now 65-E15h

Thanks
