An interesting photo I found when reading an article on yet another post office proposed for closing:

I don't ever recall seeing a post office quite as odd looking as this 122-year-old structure (painted in pink no less!) yet in a town of only 109 people, I guess it may be typical of small towns out west. Here's the article if anyone's interested in reading about it:

Been there many times. This part of Colorado has several very small towns that will probably face the same problem in the future.

A great postmark to go with the picture of the old post office in Trinchera, Colorado! Just tried looking the town up on Wiki and only came up with "an unincorporated town with a post office" ... almost deserted, or so it would seem.

This area was dry land cattle grazing with coal mining and coke ovens to the west. The post card says a lot about the social climate, "Would you like to exchange cards with a Colorado girl. If so answer this. I am 18 years of age." Was sent to Cazenovia, N.Y. with no return address as most mail was probably either RFD or general delivery

Edit: Read that this morning, the Pueblo Chieftain is my hometown newspaper.
